almond joy cocktail.
We recently ventured to Lake Tahoe for our annual ski trip with friends. The resort lived up to its name — it truly was HEAVENLY! They had 30-year record snow levels, blue bird days, and it wasn’t crowded during the week. I loved the cozy chateau cabin style of all the buildings, and the views from the top of the mountains were simply breathtaking. Plus, it was pretty fun to snowboard in two states!

One of my favorite après ski discoveries was an almond joy cocktail at McP’s Taphouse! It was the perfect blend of alcohol, dessert and something to warm me up after a full day on the slopes. I found this recipe online to recreate it, and it is pretty simple to make!

Need:
1 pouch Swiss Miss simple hot chocolate (no preservatives)
1 cup almond milk
1.5 ounces coconut rum
1 drop almond extract
Whipped cream & chocolate flakes!
Hollyized Steps:
Make your hot chocolate by zapping the almond milk in the microwave for approximately 3 minutes, and pouring into a mug with the coco mix.
Then add in the coconut rum and almond extract. Stir, and top with whipped cream and chocolate flakes!
There you have it — a sweet winter cocktail to enjoy on top of a mountain or at home! Cheers!
