Christopher Columbus considered his discovery of the West a key discovery — it obviously was because we celebrate it in history books and some (lucky ones) get the day off from work as a holiday. Well, ladies and fine gentlemen Holly Would Life readers, I have a key [lime] discovery that will make culinary shortcut history! A new National Hollyday? Why not?! π
This new discovery is all about channeling summer and summer spots like Key West with key lime tarts that take ten as in 10, yes TEN, minutes to whip up! (And that is only if you are an over-achiever like me!) Check it out: Clearbrook Farms tart shells and filling!
They are tasty and make playing poolside hostess a snap! (Watch out, Mary Poppins!) Here’s how to be glam and whip up a summer sweet treat that will maximize your time in the sun — plus, they are low in fat and calories! (It is swimsuit season, after all.)
Need:
Clearbrook Farms Tart Shells
Clearbrook Farms Key Lime Filling
Fresh blueberries
Oven at 300 degrees
Hollyized Steps:
Remove shells from package and place on a large cookie sheet.
Fill shells with Key Lime filling.
Place in the oven and bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. (No, you are not hazy from the hot summer sun — it really is THIS easy!)
Let cool for approximately five minutes. Then embellish with some fresh fruit to add some color and a Hollyized touch! The blueberries are quite refreshing to bite into and play up the tartness of the filling.
These are a fabulous, light and portion controlled dessert — go ahead and ask the cabana boy to bring you a second tart. It’s summertime and enjoy! Be playful with serving — I put mine in my lovely cake stand to make it fancy and have an excuse to use it! These quick key lime tarts are definitely a key discovery in my book! Sorry, Chris. π
