This is a first for Holly Would Life since I didn’t actually cook this dinner. BUT it was so FABULOUS, I had to share it! Also, it’s an appropriate reflection of my current life- LOTS of dining out lately!
I recently visited Chicago and maximized my time there with some foodie fun! My first evening there, I had the great pleasure of dining at Table Fifty-two, Art Smith’s restaurant! (I was BEYOND thrilled to get a reservation!) For those of you who aren’t familiar with Art, he’s well known in the culinary world thanks to being the personal chefs to Oprah and Jeb Bush. (You all know I LOVE my fellow Republicans and Oprah!)
My experience was FABULOUS! It was a lovely sunny day and I enjoyed my dinner on the quaint patio. Chef Smith is known for his Southern cuisine, which I considered to be a welcome meant especially for me, a Texas gal. It was the perfect elegant urban dinner. 🙂
My first course was a deviled egg, which I enjoyed with a goat cheese biscuit (AMAZING! I LOVE goat cheese!) and a glass of chardonnay. (Surprise surprise!)
For my main dish, I ordered a cornmeal crusted catfish that came with cheese grits! (Yes, the Southern gods all sang and smiled at me through the sunshine and tasty dishes my waiter kept bringing out!)
The Holly Foodie Rule: there’s always room for dessert! Last but not least, the chef brought out a chocolate peanut butter crunch bite for me to enjoy. (I didn’t order dessert there because I was looking forward to snagging a More Cupcakes red velvet on my way back to the hotel, which was AMAZING!)
If you ever get to visit Chicagoland, you should most certainly check out this fabulous eatery! I would love to go back- they treated me like a Queen!
